This view is East of Gorran Haven in North Cornwall. We were on a midsummer walk, heading back to the main bay. Gorran Haven is a largely unspoilt place; a real, working Cornish village set amongst a few sparsely populated bays. The seascape is often a dramatic one, so it’s a lovely place to paint. Gorran Haven feels more inaccessible than other seaside villages because it’s a bit off the beaten track and quite hard to find. This spot overlooks a lot of National Trust land and is ten minutes down the road from the gardens of Heligan; another source of endless and ever-changing inspiration.
